How it works

A neural network called Swin2SR runs in your browser tab. It does not stretch the image; it actually invents plausible high-resolution detail using patterns learned from millions of low and high resolution image pairs. The model is a few tens of megabytes, downloaded once and cached.

Which model to pick

• Photo: realistic photos, phone shots, screenshots of photos.
• JPEG cleanup: trained to undo JPEG compression, good for blocky or over-compressed images.
• Sharp: classical super-resolution, cleaner edges, good for art and UI screenshots.

Tips

• Start with images under 1024 by 1024. Larger inputs are tiled but slow.
• For very blurry images, try 2x twice rather than 4x once.
• Output PNG for art and screenshots. Output JPG or WebP for photos.
